Now more so than ever, a study space is an important addition to the home. Kids would quite happily complete their homework in the back of the car on their way to school… but a designated haven for learning will not only improve concentration, it will stimulate your child’s imagination and development. We’ve highlighted some steps below to get you well on your way to creating a study space for your child…
Find or Make Space
Creating routine is important for study: a specific space and time for learning will develop a healthy learning habit, becoming part of day-to-day life for your little one. The first step in choosing the space for your child to study is thinking about where they might learn best. Older children and teens may prefer to study alone in their bedrooms, but younger children might feel a need to be surrounded by the ebb and flow of family life as they complete their tasks with parents within easy reach for those trickier spellings or questions!
If you’re short on space in your child’s bedroom, consider an under-bed study spot!
